No matter what side you’re on, now is not the time to judge, hold grudges or seek faults. Instead, we should rise above and endeavor to begin the next four years of our country’s history on the right foot. The one where tolerance supersedes all. The one where taking a hard look at our current situation and making the necessary sacrifices to correct it reign supreme. The one where we all—man, woman, black, white, Asian, whatever work together to shift America back to her rightful place amongst nations. The one where our hearts unite to a common goal—creating solidarity amongst her citizens.

If we keep these notions at the forefront, then as the following days, weeks and months roll into this new term, we will once again find ourselves united instead of fighting amongst ourselves. There’s already enough negativity in the world that threatens to bring nations to their knees. Let’s not allow the United States to fall victim to it. Let us stand tall, proud and linked together as we march forward into the future.Cindy Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02147365342014925484noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5556512955091936745.post-65755465209988250252009-01-21T09:14:00.000-08:002009-01-21T09:14:00.000-08:00A new candle burns brightly in the window,its glow...A new candle burns brightly in the window,
its glow permeating the gloom and doom of the previous resident;
While it has just begun to burn,
we have high hopes that the flame
will shed light into the darkest corners and illuminate the DNA of wrongs committed against the American people and people of the world by the very ones whose deceit and secrecy have shamed all of us. One of the most striking intense feelings of this day is, in my opinion, that it is the best example of the vitality of freedom and democracy. Without that freedom, without that very democracy, there would have been no Hope, no possibility for Reconciliation.
In the strive for freedom there may be setbacks and times when a people is tested. But in those times that the stakes are high, as the new President of the United States quoted Washington during the war of Independence, the strive for freedom will always lead to victory. That victory may not be there for all to see, but it will always lay in the hearts and minds of those who persue it.
The US have shown that they still hold firm to their believe in freedom. Democracy has made that possible, because without free and fair elections real freedom can never be achieved... this would never had taken place.
The new President tried to temper the expectations of his administration, and that is wise... but there is one thing that has been achieved already, and that is that the essence of the US was shown in this moment of freedom and democracy. And with that, the US shows the rest of the world that it is a shining country, capable of many things, and still the shining example that freedom and democracy are the most important means to achieve the Hope of a people.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5556512955091936745.post-34680465262439387482009-01-20T11:41:00.000-08:002009-01-20T11:41:00.000-08:00The day after a DreamResonated throughout the land...The day after a Dream
Resonated throughout the land
You step up calmly, serene
You're going to be great, and

Nothing will make this moment
Grander than it is in kind.
Each phrase, as you coin it
Is emblazoned on our minds.

We dreamt of you long ago
Before our concious collective
We have such hope, and oh
We meet you with the objective.CDBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07693699262370727497noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5556512955091936745.post-37814374328318459782009-01-20T09:15:00.000-08:002009-01-20T09:15:00.000-08:00@Sarah - that was lovely.I thought I would write m...@Sarah - that was lovely.

I thought I would write mine while watching the inauguration ceremony.

- - - -

I did not vote for you,
Though I wished I could.
There is so much pressure now,
For you to be better than good.

The world is watching,
Your citizens are daring to dream;
But you look so calm,
Like you're ready to jump into this mad stream.

Aretha is here to serenade you,
On this historical day.
All are gathered together,
To hear what you have to say.

The moment is coming,
The time is almost here;
But first your right hand man,
Swears his oath with such great cheer.

One final performance
By the musical masters;
The notes are beautiful,
My heart beats faster and faster.

The words are spoken,
A slight stumble, a show of nerves?
But now it is official,
You have begun to serve.

I wish you luck.
May your dreams come true.
May this raging storm not sweep you under,
And may God watch over you.Marchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14952331166517430843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5556512955091936745.post-36058976629122066842009-01-20T09:12:00.000-08:002009-01-20T09:12:00.000-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.Marchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14952331166517430843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5556512955091936745.post-72507502733034783692009-01-20T08:16:00.000-08:002009-01-20T08:16:00.000-08:00The vast majority of those witnessing today's even...The vast majority of those witnessing today's events, whether in person at the Nation's Capital, or at home on television, are going to see history made as the first African-American President takes office. But as for me, my excitement stems from a much more meaningful milestone: today my eight-year-old son has the opportunity to watch our Nation's past, present, and future histories converge in an extraordinary way. He will, for the first time in his life, come to bear witness and understanding of the very ideals this great nation was built upon, to see with his own eyes democracy at work. In this time of tremendous financial turmoil and uncertainty, it can be difficult to find hope for a brighter future. Today, as Obama gets sworn into office, many have discovered renewed faith and hope in "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." But as for me, my renewed spirit is touched by watching my son coming to understand what it means to be an American, to see the culmination of a life of public service and patriotism. And through this, my hope is that he will find within himself the inspiration to be a part of great change and prosperity in America, for himself and for our great nation.

God Bless The United States of America.Multiple personalities..https://www.blogger.com/profile/07036850041470203680noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5556512955091936745.post-38418299696754291742009-01-20T07:40:00.000-08:002009-01-20T07:40:00.000-08:00Maybe the next four years will be better than the ...Maybe the next four years will be better than the last 8....

Barack Hussein Obama
Not the end of the dream
But part
Make us proud
And maybe, for the first time in a long time, when the time comes for us to pledge our allegiance to the flag
I will
Because maybe, my faith in my country
Will be restored

GOOD LUCK! +Beautiful picture._we_the_pieces_https://www.blogger.com/profile/05691161409270597697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5556512955091936745.post-22362958387397181032009-01-20T07:15:00.000-08:002009-01-20T07:15:00.000-08:00Amazing every four to 8 years a president wakes in...Amazing every four to 8 years a president wakes in the morning as the most powerful person on earth and that evening he is at home in his own house as a private citizen. Another person wakes as a private citizen and at the end of the day...sleeps in the White House for the first time as the most powerful person on earth. All as a peaceful transition moves from one era to the next. Tomorrow, life goes on...albeit with a new direction. Godspeed Obama and may Bush rest peacefully knowing he led us through the most tumultuous time in our nation's history...safe and secure.

Monica...Beautiful crystal clear picture.
