i've never been the tree huggin' type
or a hippie or vegan or flake
but there's something majestic 'bout forests
some subtle beauty my mind cannot shake.

and as much as i love my computer
running water and medicine too
i'd abandon it all for whole days
to get closer to eden with you.

One day I was walking in the woods and came upon a very special tree. It reached high into the clouds where a magic world awaited me.

This magic world contained all the things long lost in the world below.
Like dinosaurs, fairies and gingerbreadhouses and happy afternoons with my grandmother who I lost so long ago.

I stood and stared for what seemed like an eternity and then I turned away.
For even though it was like paradise it was not yet my time to stay.

The face of inmortality.
The body of nature.
The height of magnificence.

The greatness of a tree.

Stepping forward
No slack
Scratch the tree
and your back.
Hovering about
The tree people
Laugh
Cry
Whisper
And sigh.
Can we withstand
The pressure
To devour
Our teachers?
Holistic in strength
Patient in length
And in nature
There to the end.

My friends, I am overwhelmed by your generosity; no thanks I can offer even begin to approach the gratitude I feel for this gift. It transcends even the wildest imaginings of my desire. Thank you, thank you, thank you. What more could any termite possibly ask for?

I slammed into a tree with my body flying.
Just a small skip, a bit of my toe, caught and flipped me.
I know what it feels like to be Supper Man.
My feel off the ground, there was no stopping.
Until...
I hit the tree.

Deep in the forest,
The witness of time
Stand guarding.

Old and gigantic,
grandfather of the forest.
Standing tall and mighty,
Canopy stretch above the rest.
New lives grow under his shade
They all look up wondering, dreaming
That through storms and heat waves
They would stay swaying and green.

But deep in the forest,
A faint sound of chainsaw roars,
whining.
