each taste is luscious
each scent is perfume
each one is a treasure
waiting to be found.
juice unlocks desire,
it taps the senses:
hear it swooshing,
taste it dancing,
feel it gliding,
see it gone.
behind, left are stains:
polish on fingers,
polka-dots on shirts,
of red, mahogany and blue.

Hmmm, berries
Better than cherries
I'd risk many a scratch
While roaming through your patch
All for a handful of you
You sweet, juicy devils.
If I were a bear
I wouldn't eat meat
I'd eat all the berries
cause they're so darned sweet!
Delicate little treasure fruit, you are, little berry. Yet, as delicate to the touch, you reach out and grab my flesh with each picking. Why? Why, sweet little berry, do you do such a thing? Should you just rest on these beautiful green vines to shine pretty, or should you not be picked and placed perfectly in the pie that I dream of?
Oh, delicate little berry, you are mine.
Glowing globes
promise sweet juice
Hold off passing by
berries tempt the mind
with thoughts of more
Whining!
How stained we are.
I'm not sure it's worth it.
Never again.
But think of the pies!
Each mouthful, brimful of flavour:
Rich, tart yet sweet,
Redolent of summer.
You'll always remember them
