One week after the photo or picture is posted I will pick one offering to put beneath the image. This is a way of celebrating exceptional creativity. Any and all posts are available for your creative mind to make an offering at any time (even ones where a writing has been placed on the front page like this one). If you are new here and want to offer to every image here, feel free. We are writers, WRITE! If this is your exceptional writing posted here on the Front Page Pictures, Poetry & Prose invites you to include the Exceptional Writing Award Button on your blog. Visit the Exceptional Writing Award post for the details and the button to download.

Control or Defeat, which shall you desire, oh, Pharoah?

Seems to me, a man with such strength would have moved mountains...with all of his servants and all.

If only you'd have chosen the path to righteousness. If only you would have bowed down to the One King worthy of serving, oh, Pharoah.

Your heart could have been set straight, if only....

Each carving lovingly detailed,
Painstakingly carved.
Explaining a story,
Heralding a battle,
Illuminating a life?
Those who could read it
Long dead,
It stands as a monument of passing time.

I shall not carve you in a hat;
Please stop asking me to do that.
This beak does not make you look fat,
So put down your slave beating bat!

Yes your wrists really are that thick.
No your skin doesn't look like brick.
What? No, that's not a candlestick.
These questions are making me sick!

Won't you let me create in peace?
I've sworn not to make you obese,
Your feathers won't have any grease...
Please, please, make all your squawking cease!

Thoth

Ibis-headed man-bodied
Egyptian god of writing.

How appropriate you'd visit this place:
Pictures and prose grace this space.

Your writing's repetitive.
Are you stuck in a rut?

Visit more often
and sharpen your craft.

Would you just make you mind up where you want this thing to hang. My arms are getting tired. This isn't what I signed up for, you know? It's not in my job description.
