And they stood and looked down...

______________________

And they stood and looked down,
From the precipice near the sky
Where they could reach up
And lift their arms so close
to the clouds
the birds
the air currents
Then, they came down
and became
human again.

Any and all posts are available for your creative mind to make an offering at any time (even ones where a writing has been placed on the front page like this one). If you are new here and want to offer to every image here, feel free. We are writers, WRITE! And they stood and looked down,
breathing the deepest breath.
Staggered by this view,
they let their souls speak.

Vista Point

Most of the time the trail winds and the trail climbs.
All I see are the next few steps.

Absorbed in the hike of life,
the fuller vision escapes me.
But, I know...
there are mountain tops and vista points.

I must remember the view.
and recall what I saw.
It all makes sense,
when viewed from afar.

Linger there.
Ponder it deep.
The view is spectacular.
Though the climb was steep.

The valley awaits,
and life with its pits.
But I'm armed now:
I know how things fit.

On top of the world, gazing down into the mist:
Shrouding the scenery,
Tantalising.
Hiding, yet revealing nature's beauty.

Why does man destroy?
Haphazard reasoning,
hideous scars on the land.
Unspoilt today, the forest spreads
below us.
What will our children see
in their tomorrows?

and they stood and looked down
squinting through the mist
at the foggy-blurred world
luscious prairies, peaceful streams
mountains rising
in dark arcs around them.
and they stood in wide wonder
on the highest peak of all.
