Time...

What is time?

Time to get up.
Time for breakfast.
Time to catch the bus.
Time to start work.
Time for tea.
Time for lunch.
Time to go home.
Time to have dinner.
Time to go to bed.
Time to sleep.

Time is a man made concept.
Time is an attempt to impose order on chaos.
Time is the gaoler of man.

Time to move onto another topic.

Time.

We all have it. The exact same amount.

But we never seem to have enough of it. "I'll do it if I have time".

Sometimes we have loads of time. So much time we wish we could save it somewhere somehow and use it when we feel we don't have time the next time.

How do we use our time. Good question. I believe we all want to use our time doing good. Use it in the most effectice and constructive way.

Time is one thing we don't have. The time we have used we can't have back. But there is time! There is always time. Confusing.

I hope my time is good. I hope "my time" will allow me to do as much good to people around as possible. I hope that when I run out of time, I can close my eyes and say: "I had enough time".

'Time in a bottle' was one of my favorite songs
Salvador Dali captured and dramatized my conception of it;
Geology and evolution take their good old. We mark it in ways like never before, such as the time it takes our fast food to make it from order to car, or in TV ads and the fast sell (hurry before time runs out). Makes me want to cry, but I don't have time. Got to get up, it's quarter to eight! Time for McDonald's!

Time is the essence of my passion. Photography is all about time:
1. Length of time shutter is open
2. Cycle of the seasons
3. Time of day image is captured
4. Sports photography stops time
5. Extreme slow shutter speed extends time.
6. A photograph puts a pushpin on a time line.
7. A photograph can transport you back through time.
8. A photograph puts time in perspective - picture of the moon taken 150 years ago looks like the same moon today.
9. We are having an ice storm today....time to go take some pictures.

i havent yet made my peace with you
after all i feel youve stolen from me
quietly
and i surrendered
to the lulling sounds
so slowly
and who cared
and then one day i turned around
and saw the pile of yesterdays
and you mocking me
and if i have anything to thank you for
its that lesson
that i have yet to learn

All are good, however I related the most to what Dan wrote!

I'll have to give this some thought and that takes time.

In our minds, time rarely ever flows in our favor.

There are times when we wish we had more. During the happy and fun times, we comment on how time flies.

There are times when we wish the days would go by faster. At work, as the clock seems to move backwards.

In our older years, we dream of times gone by.

Very rarely are we ever satisfied with the here and now.

This very moment in time is often overlooked!

Deep in a flold of the Jura Mountains, Switzerland, is the ancient church of Romainmôtier; on the squat clocktower over the maimn entrance arch is a clock inscribed "Le Temps Fuis". My French dictionary tells me it's "Time Flees", or Tempus Fugit I think the latin tag was. Time is what we live, an old friend, now deceased, a famous crime and documentray writer, used to say -- "Ian, it's a funny old life iosn't it, and a d**n short one at that. When you get to senior citizen stage, that means more and more to you -- young people, don't Waste time..........

--kind of personal stuff, but only a few seconds over the 5min! Time for my breakfast, and then to work.......!

Time is not of a promise to us.
It leaves us with memory
of yesterdays gone by
and allows only a hint
of the tomorrows to come.
Time is not a promise.

The moment of life is time alone.
This piece that we live in right now.
In "just a minute" could
possibly become real;
yet this one moment is all we've got.
Time is not promised.

Lives live busily with the time of the world;
running all around in circles. People have nothing but life to live
and they waste it for the time of tomorrow.
Take this moment you live in right now
and make it worth your time...
because
time is not of a promise to us.

I really liked that, sort of a philosophical space, related to the old motto "carpe diem" -- seize the day. Your thoughts are deeper, and thank you.

Really lovely thoughts from all! It is so inspiring to see how different minds wrap around the same topic. I try to write first before I read so that I am not influenced in my own words. I just want to say thank you to all of you for sharing your thoughts with us!

There’s no time

…no time to be petty…but time to be selfless
…no time to be unhappy…but time to be cheer-filled
…no time to be sour…but time to be sweet
…no time to be weak…but time to stand strong
…no time to be mean-spirited…but time to be caring
…no time to be selfish…but time to be giving
…no time to be deep down ugly…but time to share your inner beauty
…no time to be saddened…but time to spread joy

Like the present

It passes so quickly, too quickly. We strive to hold it, but fail. It is like trying to hold a cloud within our grasp. But it is not ours to hold, nor ours to keep. Yet we must just enjoy it for what it is. Enjoy it when it is our's.
