Star light, star bright,
The first star I see tonight;
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have the wish I wish tonight

The last time I saw her, we sat on the steps of the back porch making a wish and planning our future. She wanted to be a nurse, me a fireman. I heard years later that she never made it through college, married young, no children, and divorced him after the scandal. I lost track of her after that.

I received the obituary notice from my grade school friend. He always thought that she and I would go through life together. Funny, how our minds work at that age. The Obit says that her lifelong wish of becoming a nurse was realized last year when she graduated from the state college and she was employed at the local hospital. She was always so caring...I knew that someday she would see her dream come true....

Star light, star bright,
The first star I see tonight;
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have the wish I wish tonight
To be back on that porch step
To start again...clean slate
Follow my dream...
I never stopped loving her

A wish upon a sky so blue,
With white clouds say it may come true.
Don't be afraid, friend, you shall see,
Make a wish and dream with me.

This was taken from my front yard on a beautiful day, as you can see. Many thanks to Laura Jayne for sharing this photo here today. At my new photos blog, this was one of my first posts. It was left untitled until a sweet dear friend commented about it...and it then became..."Thousands of Tiny Souls".

A wish for me for all to delight
A wish for me
I wish in all my might

I wish that his children would someday be mine
I wish that they could be mine NOW

Their home would be happier and consistent
The love unending
Their routine and schedule unbending

A routine is what these children desire
A loving home instead of being transferred back and forth to homes and inconsistency

I wish, somehow my wish has been heard
I WANT YOUR CHILDREN
I love them, I want to raise them

There
The true is out
My wish
Please, I beg of thee come true today, tomorrow
Come true
Come to me and say these precious ones are mine to raise

Between my fingers
I hold the stem
A cloud of white
Is made by them

The tiny souls
Cling gently here
Soon to ride
The breeze, no fear

I close my eyes
Await a start
I make a wish
Within my heart

The wind whispers
My minds' eye hears
I arise within
Beyond my years

I take a breath
Then gently out
The tiny souls
Release about

My wish is taken
Upon the wind
They dance around me
Then off they send

My wish will follow
Into the sky
My heart soars also
And away I fly

IF I HAD THREE WISHES

When children are small
they more than likely hear
many fine tales
through their formative years
of magic and faeries, ogres and knights,
genies and lamps, vampires and wights.

the stories I like most
of all that I've known
all have the same thing
that i 'd most like to own
stories set in arabian nights
and of certain celtic sprites.

tales in which one might find
not monetary riches
but something far more valuable
the coveted "three wishes"
endless would be my delights
if I had those dreaming rights.

for the thing I would wish
with choice number one
would be you, Cezanne Annette
to love until time's done
our love would burn so strong and bright
there would be no such thing as night.

then comes number two
of my three choices
i'd have to chose the owners of
each of our favorite four small voices.
your kids and mine with all our might
we'd love and accompany through lifes' precious flight.

one last thing
for which to chose
what it matters not
I can not lose.
for my first two selections were so right
I already float higher than any kite.

so if I had three wishes
I would only need two
I wouldn't hesitate to offer
the third one up to you.

Wishing upon a star
she thought
was for the ignorant
and hopeful

Whispers to the dark
at night
of dreams and
secret ambitions

Ripped paper
with a knot tied tight
was for the young
and empty-headed

I wish the cloud would move
I wish the breeze would sway
I wish that I could stay
In this pretty picture.

I wish to pick this puff
And blow with all my might
To see them fly into the night
A million little wishes.

A million little wishes
Ready to land and grow
For you, just you, I know
You'll make it count

I know you'll make it fly
You wish, your dream,
a bright moon beam,
ready to come alive.

I found a wish-maker today, sitting in the middle of our lawn. It was full of fairies just waiting to become airborn.

My mum always said, when you find one, close your eyes real tight, make a wish and watch them take flight.

Today is mums birthday, she'll be turning thirty three. This wish is for you mum, from Dad, my brother and me.

We wish you a Happy Birthday Mummy, we love you, miss you, have a very special day!

I close my eyes and blow real hard. Please little fairies, tell my mum we wish she was here and everythings okay.

Wishing I could write
with all of my might
The dandelion wisp blew
away in the night

And I still wish I could write. Goodnight.

I watched at my niece picked a dandelion from the yard. She closed her eyes tightly and whispered, “I wish for a puppy.” Then, she blew with all her might.

She ran for another and another wishing the same wish. Then she looked up at me and smiled, “Here, you wish with me.”

Holding my dandelion, she again closed her eyes and whispered, “I wish for a puppy.” Then we both blew with all our might that her wish might come true.

In vision I spring, wandering through
prismatic meadows of emerald hue
there in the midst of laughter and bliss
a loner appears standing amiss;
what a stout, defiant one
who wears her pride against the sun
I bow before this afro cloud
imposing on her curious shroud
now beheld within my grip
I query upon the sentry of wish:
Rescind for me fingers of time,
summon forth days of innocence, rhyme.
With breath—a birthing of tiny stems;
she spirals across the whimsical wind,
a classic ballet towards heaven
